Guest blogger, Jennifer, MiV member, mother, entrepreneur, and Canadian expatriate, introduces a bit of Canadiana into Switzerland with her company Canadian Native Products, based in Lausanne.
Hi, I am Jennifer. I am an expat Canadian and a new mother. I live in Lausanne, Switzerland with my husband Ludovic and son Jonathan.
As a Canadian expat for over ten years, I noticed the one thing that is truly unique to Canada is our indigenous art and designs. Many of us have brought that unique art with us to our homes “away from home”, but not all of us, and I knew I wanted to make that uniqueness available to my fellow expats and colleagues around the world in products they could use every day.
After a lot of work, CanadianNativeProducts.com: Canada’s first international marketplace for First Nations, Métis, and Inuit artists, was born. It’s site is now online with new products online regularly. Canadian First Nations, Métis, and Inuit artists also have the opportunity to apply to sell their products from the CanadianNativeProducts.com storefront. A virtual collective gallery so-to-speak.
As this is a new venture, I am looking for feedback about the products and the prices. To thank you, I am offering a 10% discount on your first order and as well as an entry into a contest to win a $25 gift certificate.
Like the products or the art? Check back daily fashion accessories are coming up next: silver bracelets, earrings, scarves, and for a bit of fun, even temporary tattoos.
